Maxine M Bishop
(December 26, 1925 - March 31, 2012)

Born in Oklahoma City to Jerome Elmer & Blanche "Opal" Wheeland, Maxine was the oldest of seven children. She was a graduate of Capitol Hill HS. She married Charles "Ed" Bishop, Sr on October 12, 1946 and they had four children. Maxine worked at TAFB where she retired from in 1988. Maxine and her husband lived in Oklahoma City, Del City, Eufaula and Yukon. She was particularly fond of her time living at the lake where she would spend time with family and friends swimming, frying fish and cooking. She was an excellent caregiver and was loved by all who knew her. Maxine lived at The Village at Oakwood Assisted Living Facility for the past three years where she had numerous friends and was involved in all of the activities there. She loved to crochet, cook, garden & listen to music. She is survived by one sister, Shirley Leonhardt & husband Chet of Yukon and one brother, Tom Wheeland & wife Ne Ne of OKC, four children, Robert Bishop of Yukon, Charlene Leach & husband Jack of Holdenville, R.C. Bishop of OKC and Charles "Charly" Bishop, Jr of Yukon, 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Maxine was preceded in death by her husband Charles "Ed" Bishop Sr., 3 sisters- Mary Ellen, Dorothy, Alice Faye & 1 brother, Bud. Services will be held at 2pm Thursday, April 5th at Smith and Turner Mortuary, 201 E Main, Yukon, OK 73099
